Arsenal have booked their place in the Carabao Cup final after fending off Chelsea in Tuesday’s second leg clash at the Emirates.
The Gunners drew first blood in the first leg clash at Stamford Bridge in January, taking a 3-2 lead into tonight’s game.
Against a Chelsea side who have come from behind to win in each of their last two games, Arsenal held firm to hold the visitors at bay.
In the final minute of extra-time, former Blues forward Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the night to get the party started in north London.
Arsenal will play either Manchester City or Newcastle United in the final at Wembley on 22 March.
The Gunners will have their chance to win their first piece of silverware in six years with Mikel Arteta’s side still fighting on four fronts.
City lead Newcastle ahead of their second leg at the Etihad on Wednesday.

But their success tonight was again built on a fine rearguard performance securing their 20th clean sheet of the season in all competitions.
Chelsea struggled to create anything of real note with the introductions of Cole Palmer and Estevao Willian in the second-half doing little to change things.

Chelsea get the ball back and patiently gain ground upfield. It’s cleverly slid through to the Argentine who has acres of space 25 yards out from goal… and hammers a woeful effort over the bar.
