The unicorn is on the move! After a career-best season in Phoenix in 2025, Satou Sabally is taking her talents to the New York Liberty. Ironically, her younger sister Nyara was just drafted out of New York by the Toronto Tempo.

The older Sabally is now reportedly signing a multi-year deal in New York.

Grading Satou Sabally to the New York Liberty: A+

Satou Sabally is one of the most dynamic, effective forwards in the WNBA. Although she has struggled with injuries throughout her career, when she’s healthy, she’s an All-Star and All-WNBA-caliber player. Her time in Phoenix ended with a nasty concussion that left her out of the Unrivaled season, so it will be interesting to see what her health is like heading into training camp.

Adding Sabally to a lineup with Breanna Stewart, newly re-signed Jonquel Jones, and Sabrina Ionescu is incredibly effective for a team trying to return to the WNBA Finals. Not only has Sabally been there before, but she was also on an Oregon Ducks team with Ionescu that was the 2020 NCAA championship favorites…before the tournament was canceled.

New York just became an even scarier opponent to face.

This team automatically boosts their championship odds, skyrocketing to the top of the league at +320 to win in 2026.
